Welcome to the website of the Tiverton Decorative and Fine Arts Society!

  • Can you distinguish between a Manet and a Monet?
  • Do you know the difference between Finials and Filigree?
  • Meissen and Mennacy?
  • Art Deco and Art Nouveau?
  • Hepplewhite and Chippendale?

If you are interested in ‘The Arts’ in their broadest form, then you would enjoy meeting once a month for an illustrated lecture. We have lectures from first class speakers, each a national or international expert in his or her field. Subjects cover a huge range of topics in the Arts – porcelain, painting, furniture, clocks, sculpture, architecture, jewellery …. and much more.

Tiverton Decorative and Fine Arts Society was founded in 2000. Our Society is a member of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS). We aim to increase our own understanding and enjoyment of ‘The Arts’, to foster friendships and to support arts education and conservation in our local community. We are a very friendly society and we meet in the evening once a month for nine months of the year.

Click on the above links to find out about our programme of lectures, visits and volunteering opportunities, and how to join us if you’re interested. Lectures start at 8:00pm but members arrive for a drink and chat from 7:15 pm
